Top Universities Making Use Of Social Media

There is a marked change in the way the top universities are looking at social media. Many universities boast of an active Facebook page or a Youtube channel but very few offer outstanding services.
The "BestCollegeOnline" puts the top universities to the test on their social media network and came up with some interesting results. Among them is the Notre Dame, which gets the first position in this list of top universities. Notre Dame not only offers details of libraries, alumni and other professional resources online but keeps regular text updates for the sports groups.
The Syracuse gets its position in the top universities using social media by its huge presence on Twitter where alumni and students can effectively enjoy the homecoming weekend activities even when they are not on campus.
Similarly, the Baylor finds itself in the top universities loop because of its huge group on Facebook with almost 40,000 likes. It is also active on other networks such as Twitter, blogs and itunesU.
Ohio state university boasts of a record breaking 700,000 "likes" on its Facebook athletics department. Many universities can claim to having their own social media group which maintains such networks where interaction is possible.
